  2. Hi Shannon, well I will try this again today,I tried to comment yesterday but couldn't figure out how to send the message! :) Sounds like this is going to be a fantastic learning experience! Making gloves or moccocins out of Cariboo leather is really neat. When you were speaking about the noise clothing makes when walking in minus 40 degree weather it just reminds me of our normal winters years ago, we would get minus 40 for a week of so but NEVER more than that and to get minus 30s now is even almost unheard of, but you just reminded me of things that we take for granted during winter, feeling the hairs in your nose freezing up and your eyelashes as well LOL. Your falling over in the snow made me laugh! I do that on a regular basis when Victor and I go ice fishing...my boots must weigh about 8 lbs each and my winter fishing coat probably could easy fit several people in it but there is only me! that alone weighs about 10 lbs, doesn't sound like much but I feel so ungainly and just...fall over! LOL. You will have a great time up there, WOW what an experience.. V wants to come up and visit...too expensive I heard?! And as far as camping and sleeping in Cariboo hide tents you can forget that idea!!! Are they nuts!! LOL That idea of your walking on frozen water or better known as "ice" is too funny, Victor took me ice fishing for the first time last year, we walked a hell of a long way out on the ice, after we had established our fishing holes, set up our chairs and finally fishing rods, I was resting in my chair enjoying the sunshine (like those beer ads on tv on a sandy beach but it was snow) sun glasses on just missing holding a can of beer when all of a sudden there was the most wicked snapping just behind my chair!! I thought I was going down!! My eyes popped out of my head and trying to get my bulk (all winter wear weight) out of my deep seated chair Victor just laughed and says "relax, its just the ice talking, its making ice" . My heart rate had gone down just ever so slightly when there was the most mornfull moaning just behind me again! "All right I'm outta here!" Victor again explained that it was just the ice "talking" he had a good laugh, but I have to say I was relieved when we finally caught our limit and where on our way off the ice. I have become very comfortable on ice now, but I DO understand your reluctance to be on as deep water as you are talking about!! anyway my deer, you have to get the other 1/2 up there soon!! we think of you often, and will look forward to your blog!ove ya Robin and Victor!
